Jewellery Care

Visit our blog post for complete guide on  How To Keep Your Jewellery Clean.

Creating pieces that are comfortable and durable is what we strive for. You have invested into one of our handmade pieces and now get to enjoy it daily. Here we share some simple but effective ways to keep your treasures in tip top shape so they can sparkle for decades to come.

Here are our Top 5 tips for aftercare:

-

1. To keep your unique diamonds and gemstones from looking dull, take your jewellery off when applying lotions or sunscreen. This one is so simple but many of us forget. This can really effect the overall sparkle of your pieces (especially rings).

2. To avoid skin irritations or possible loss of your special piece, take your jewellery off while swimming, showering, doing house work or going in the hot tub. Your rings will feel looser while submerged in water and you may not feel them slipping off. That's why having your ring sized correctly to you is so important.

3. To avoid scratching, loosened stones or heavy impact against the stones, tae your jewellery off during vigorous physical activity (think mountain biking, gym, rock climbing, renovating etc).

3. To clean, let your pieces soak in a bowl of warm water and gentle dish soap for about 30 minutes, then use an old toothbrush to scrub off any build up around and under the settings. Pat dry throughout with cotton cloth or paper towel. Do this once every 2-4 weeks or as often as you like. Avoid using commercial cleaners as they are full of harsh chemicals and can harm softer gemstones and your skin.

4. Bring your jewellery in for wellness check every 6-12 months to make sure your settings are secure. We recommend that you insure your precious pieces with your home insurance or a third party company especially if you own a one-of-a-kind centre diamond of gemstone.

5. If you notice that your ring has bent out of shape, or any stones are rattling in their settings, bring it in for a quick assessment & repair to avoid further damage. You can do a simple test by gently tapping with your finger tip on the surface of the gemstones. If you hear slight clicking noise, it's time to tighten the settings.
